MMAD Chenin Blanc
Tasting Notes
PALATE: Balance of vibrant acidity and bountiful fruit such as cumquat and yellow nectarine, with a hint of talc. An intense, unique expression of old vine Chenin Blanc.
REGION: The MMAD Vineyard of Blewitt Springs was planted in 1939, with the oldest Shiraz coming from 1941. The site has a combination of Maslin sands, ironstone pebbles, and sea breeze, giving the wines perfume and structure. VINIFICATION: High fruit concentration in this vintage. Handpicked grapes were fermented in concrete (50%) and oak (50%), with whole bunches pressed.
VINTAGE: The second MMAD vintage was a low-yielding, cool season which became warmer before harvest.
