Calabria Nero D'avola 2017
The idyllic Riverina climate of sunshine and rich red soils allows the soft black berries of Nero D’Avola to express their red cherry and dried herb aromas; the supple palate is long and gentle with fine grained tannins. Nero D'Avola is the most important red wine grape in Sicily and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Shirazes, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery �lavours. The Black Grape of Avola appears to have been selected by growers near Avola several hundred years ago.
